Claire Kelly - Veterinary Nurse
Claire Kelly RVN Veterinary Nurse

Claire qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2009 and spent the next few years volunteering overseas in places like Africa, working with monkeys, to Indonesia, where she worked to help get confiscated illegal pet trade animals back up to health for re-release into the wild.

She then moved to New Zealand, she lived here for 8 years, working at Massey Veterinary Teaching Hospital, helping students learn about native wildlife, mostly birds (from sea birds, such as penguins to hawks, to some of New Zealand's most endangered species, such as the Takahe).

Claire then went on to work for the SPCA in New Zealand in 2014, helping improve the welfare of animals in the Manawatu region.

2018 found her teaching Animal Care to young adults wanting to start their careers in the animal sector, and in 2019 Claire returned to the UK and started working for Kernow Veterinary Group in 2021.

Claire has a keen interest in wildlife and also in dog behaviour and welfare, she has just started an Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour and is a student member of the International Society of Animal Professionals.
