Judith started her employment with us straight from school in 1997. She went on the qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2001. She loves her job. She wanted to be a veterinary nurse since she was 8 years old and that has never changed. In 2003 she was awarded the Blue Cross Veterinary Nurse of the Year. This was in recognition of a nurses dedication and support they give the pet owners. Something to be very proud of and really sums up Judiths commitment to her role as a nurse.
In 2005 Judith qualified as an assessor for the nursing course and since then she has helped develop and train many student nurses under her supervision. Many of these nurses have stayed on to work with us after qualifying.
In 2007 she was promoted to the role of Head Nurse for the Pelyn team where her main role is to be on hand to support and help staff with the daily running of the surgeries. Her main love is still the day to day hands on role of a veterinary nurse helping owners through the process of surgery, from admitting, through anaesthesia, on the recovery and discharge.
In 2016 Judith was promoted to Support Staff Manager - overseeing the staff rota and holiday needs, and working closely with the HR team and Practice Manager supporting all of the small animal team across five practice sites.
Outside of work she is a doting mum to her two children and finds a good walk on the beach with her dogs is a great way to relax.
